Andrew Chrostowski takes helm at RealWear

(Web release)

March 6, 2020 – Vancouver, WA – RealWear, the world’s leading industrial hands-free knowledge transfer platform for frontline workers, today announced that its board of directors has named Andrew Chrostowski as Chairman and Acting CEO.

Andrew is a National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Certified Director and Governance Fellow as well as the former President of Scott Safety, a business that was sold to 3M for $2 Billion in 2017.  He had previously served as RealWear’s COO and more recently as Chairman of the RealWear Advisory Board.  Also, co-founder and company President, Sanjay Jhawar was appointed to the Board.

“Since 2016, RealWear quickly grew its business and became the world standard in enterprise hands-free wearables,” said Andrew Chrostowski.  “I’m excited that the Board has asked me to serve as Acting CEO.  I will remain singularly focused on accomplishing our mission of empowering front-line workers with smart wearable technology.  I extend a heartfelt thanks to Andy Lowery for driving the initial growth and getting our business off the ground and turning it into a truly global company.”

“Andrew has the credentials to navigate the transition from startup to global growth company,” said former CEO, Andy Lowery, who is transitioning from the CEO position in order to refocus his time on his original passion for evangelizing wearable technology to customers.  “As a founder and shareholder, I’ll be supporting Andrew at the helm.”

RealWear catapulted quickly into prominence since its inception by creating a hands-free wearable device that could be used in extremely noisy industrial environments, freeing a worker’s hands for the work. An impressive number of global companies have already embraced and deployed RealWear for their workforce, including BMW, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles UK, Lexus, China’s State Grid, Groupe PSA, Italgas and Colgate-Palmolive.  Hundreds of app makers have also built and optimized voice-enabled apps, creating an ecosystem that has helped to accelerate RealWear’s growth.

As featured on CNBC recently, RealWear’s HMT-1 is already at work as a hands-free telemedicine solution reducing healthcare providers’ exposure to the COVID-19 virus while screening and assessing patients.

Andrew is bringing his many years of operational experience to position the company for greater scale and efficiency.
